Thursday, February 8th - Every 2nd Thursday of the month, 10am – 12 & 1:30-4 pm, upstairs at Leyba & Ingalls ARTS. Participants should bring their paints and subject matter, and be prepared to work.  Includes demos, instruction, and critiques.

 Living Lines in  Botanicals   w/ Lisa Coddington

February 24th and 25th

10:00am -3:00pm

Explore a botanical subject that meets you at your level of experience as useful demonstrations are offered for each drawing and painting step. Day one emphasizes drawing form with values. Day two emphasizes painting from your drawing studies, or you can continue developing your pencil drawings. Encouraging guidance supports your personal goals of pencil and charcoal drawing, or watercolor glazing, controlling water/paint mixture, composition, and refining details. To help your brush keep flowing, Lisa brings some of her favorite botanical books, handouts and resource list to share.

 Woodcut Design w/ Phillip Parotti

Monday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 14...5-7pm

Have you ever wanted to print greeting cards of make small stand alone block prints of your own? Phil Parotti will offer a two-session class covering the basics involved with woodcut design, woodcut carving, and woodblock printing. Students will need to supply their own cutting tools, ink roller, and ink, but a practice woodblock will be provided for each student by the instructor.

$40, preregistration required.

We were going to do a Paint Party with Diane Kleiss but has proved to be too challenging to do encaustic with a large group. If you are interested in encaustic, I encourage you to get in touch with Diane to take a class or two.
